Grecia Albán is a singer and composer from Cotopaxi, Ecuador whose unique musical universe encompasses the sounds of the forest, Ecuadorian roots music, and inspiration from a long line of strong female singers from across Latin America. With a sweetness that embraces the listener, Albán's voice takes us on a journey in Spanish and Kichwa across the diverse Ecuadorian landscape.
Rhythms and rituals of her ancestral homeland combine with electronic soundscapes and contemporary production to create a singular futuristic folk sound. Albán has toured Asia, Europe, the US, and South America as both a solo singer and in collaboration with eminent musicians from the Ecuadorian folk scene.
Grecia Albán’s new album, “Nubes Selva” (Cloud Jungle), will be out on Folkalist Records in Spring 2025.
